LEONID MARGARIUS

Born in the Ukraine, he received a music education specialist, training in the city of Charkov under the guidance of the Regina Horowitz.He concluded his studies at the Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento of the Moscow Conservatory.

After an active concert activity, it is revealed and established itself as an extraordinary teacher and as an educator of many young artists as well as winners of the most prestigious competitions for piano international first prizes at the Competition Reine Elisabeth in Brussels (1999), the Busoni in Bolzano, Italy (1992 and 2001), the Competition (Montreal, 1996), the Paloma O'shea Santander, Spain (2005), Maria Canals (Barcelona 2010,2014), the Maj Lind of Helsinki (2002), “Concertino Praga” (1991)the Minnesota International e-Competition (USA,2009), the “Viotti in Vercelli (2005), the Competition of Pinerolo (1998), the “City of Canterbury” (1998,2001,2005 and 2006), “Premio Venezia” (Venice 2007,2008,2012), in the Competition of Chopin (Rome, 2009) in Italy and to others; second prizes at the Busoni (2003), the Rubinstein in Tel Aviv (1996), the Contest of London (2002,2009), at the Long-Thibaud in Paris (2004), the Maj Lind of Helsinki (2012) and others. His pupils were reported in addition to the already mentioned Tchiaikovsky in Moscow, Reine Elisabeth in Belgium (2003,2007), at the Chopin of Warsaw, in the Competition of Leeds in England(1989,2009), to those of Hamamatsu in Japan and Sydney, at Unisa, Pretoria in South Africa, at the Seoul International Competition in South Korea, the Schumann in Zwickau, in the Bach of Leipzig Saarbruecken in Germany, the Lysenko in Kiev and Lvov in the Ukraine, as well as many others.

In 1993, for the great contribution to the development of the national culture and to the preparation of the elite music of the country, the Presidency of the Republic of Ukraine, awarded the Master Margarius of the title of Personality deserving of the culture.

Since 1995, Leonid Margarius is a professor at the International Piano Academy Incontri col Maestro in Imola, Italy. He is regularly called on to be part of the jury of the most important piano competitions, and holds Master Classes in various Countries.
